I'm Cydnei Drake, and I'm running for CFB Board of Trustees.

About Cydnei
I am a proud CFBISD parent and lifelong resident of Texas. My family and I moved to Irving, TX two years ago, and fell in love with our community and school district. I've had the privilege of serving CFBISD on the Bond Advisory Committee and previously served on the Collaborative Vision 2030 Committee, and I look forward to being your next School Board Trustee.
I have broken barriers and overcome obstacles during my lifetime. I am a first-generation college student. With hard work, dedication and perseverance I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Social Work. I share many similarities with CFBISD students, and I will be an ardent champion for their success.
As a first-generation college student, I understand the importance of a quality education and the opportunities afforded by that honor. I also understand that our community is changing, and we must embrace that change to ensure that our students and staff have the best that CFBISD has to offer.
Quality Education for All
I believe in the value of a quality education for all students. Education is one of the most powerful and proven vehicles for sustainable development. As a first- generation and low income student of color, I know the importance of college readiness and would continue to champion for these efforts. Providing a quality education for our students strengthens our community!
Fiscal Responsibility
As a member of the Bond Advisory Committee, I know the importance of being a good steward of our tax dollars and as a Trustee, I will always be transparent about such. I believe it’s imperative that we evaluate how spending adjustments, whether increasing or decreasing, impacts our students. The number one focus should always be student achievement.
Community Engagement
As a School Board Trustee and stakeholder in our community, I would encourage and welcome parents to actively participate in the instructional lives of their students.

TX-24 Congressional Candidate & Former CFBISD Trustee Candace Valenzuela
Cydnei Drake is a mother, a friend, and a phenomenal candidate for the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD School Board. Like me, Cydnei is a first-generation college graduate and she understands the incredible power and potential of public schools to uplift communities and build ladders of opportunity. I am proud to endorse Cydnei because I know she will fight to invest in our schools and ensure that those same opportunities are available to all of our kids.
